Mission
Mission
This church is committed to Christian ministry and relief work in many parts of the world, through practical and financial support and through prayer. A monthly prayer meeting focussing on missionary issues takes place on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm in the church vestry.

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW)
CSW is a human rights organisation specialising in religious freedom. CSW works on behalf of those persecuted for their Christian beliefs and promotes religious liberty for all. Many members and friends of Coedpenmaen have sent messages of encouragement to Christians who are in prison because of their beliefs, and continue to support the work of CSW financially and in prayer.
PONT Mbale (Partnerships Overseas Networking Trust)
Through the twinning link between Rhondda Cynon Taf and Mbale District, Uganda, many organisations in and around Pontypridd have forged links with their counterparts in Mbale.
Our partner church in Uganda: Bukhumwa Christian Church, Wabukhasa, Mbale
Coedpenmaen Baptist Church has established a partnership with Bukhumwa Christian Church, and was thrilled to share fellowship with the church's Chairman, Apollo Wambedde, and his wife Janet on a visit to Pontypridd in February 2007. The children of the two churches regularly exchange letters. The Bukhumwa church is hungry for the Word of God, and arrangements have recently been made to send notes and recordings of Bible teaching from Coedpenmaen to Mbale on a regular basis.
Emmanuel School, Calcutta, India
This school provides a Christian education and support for the
children of families who are often extremely poor and who could not
otherwise afford to feed and educate their children. Pictured here
is 7 year-old Subhra Sankua, a pupil at the Calcutta Emmanuel School
who is sponsored by the Coedpenmaen Thursday Fellowship.
Two-way mission
We thank God that mission works in both directions, and our
young people in particular have also been the beneficiaries of a
number of mission visits from Christian individuals and groups based
in the United States of America. In the summer of 2006 a team of
young people from the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church,
Rock Hill, South Carolina led a very successful Holiday Bible Club
and series of evening Coffee House sessions. We are delighted to
announce that they are due to return to Coedpenmaen for a week in
July 2007 - more details later.
