Mother and Toddler Group

Coedpenmaen’s Parent/Carer and Toddler Group usually called Mother and Toddler, meets on a Thursday morning from 10.00am till 12.00pm. There is no charge for the morning as the church wants this facility to be a gift to the local community. Light refreshments are provided for parents and children. Our Mother and Toddler began in September 2008 and within weeks we were very busy. The ethos of the group is to encourage Mums (and Dads and Grandparents) to spend the time interacting with their children and sharing and supporting one another.

My name is Annette Holland I am a qualified nursery nurse and hold an NNEB qualification and NVQ level three in the care of children and young people,  I spent the last few years of my working life training young nursery nurses.  I was able to retire at fifty six and when the church asked me to start the group I was very happy to do so, and put my experience to good use within the church and community.

The sessions are held on Thursday mornings from 10:00am until 12:00pm and end with a circle time where we share news, songs and together time. During the morning we enjoy floor and table activities. We have a lovely home corner, dressing-up clothes, a tent, water play, painting and much more. All our toys are of a very high standard. We love to provide opportunities for the children to explore unusual media by introducing such things as vegetables, ice, chocolate, paint and simple cookery as part of our messy play corner.

Highlights have to be our outings, picnics and parties. Our trip to The Amelia Trust Farm was most memorable for seeing who could get the most muddy, although our sponsored walk in the park to raise funds for Romania (see our mission page) was a lovely day too.

Our wall display is always changing to reflect all the lovely things we do and events we celebrate.

Coedpenmaen Mother and Toddler is always happy to meet new friends, so if you think you’d like to join us on a Thursday please contact Annette Holland on 01443 203800 or 07811 921238 or just call in and meet us. Click on this link to send Annette an email.

We have to limit our numbers within a certain range just because of space.  However, come and see us one morning - we may well have space for you. If we need to, we will add your name to our waiting list.  It will not be long before you hear from us, as children enter school after their third birthday at any  time of year and we will soon have space for one more.
