Why register?

If church members and friends wish to use our discussion forum or access private items which are not visible to visitors, then you need to use the form to get a username and password, which you can change to something more memorable when you first log in.  Please be patient - registration isn't automatic, but you will receive an email when your registration has been processed.

Registered users will be able to do the following:

• read church information which is not visible to external visitors

• read items in restricted areas for any group to which you belong (e.g. church members, deacons)

• read and contribute to discussion forums which we plan to set up

• access rotas (e.g. flowers, stewards, Sunday evening tea/coffee) which we plan to set up online

You will also see a number of extra tabs at the top of the page.  These include:

MEMBERS - don't be confused by this one!  It's a standard feature of the website and it contains a list of all registered website users, who will not necessarily all be church members. 

CHURCH MEMBERS - if you are a church member (that is, you have been formally admitted into membership of Coedpenmaen Baptist Church) you will see another tab named 'Church Members', and this is the area where you can find items for church members only (for example, minutes of the quarterly church meetings).

(YOUR NAME)'S AREA - this is where you can find things which are relevant to you personally, such as your personal profile and any rotas or forums you may be involved with.

FORUMS - We have set up a Forum where you can experiment with the system to see how it works. We'd also like to see your suggestions for changes or additions to the church web pages. Only registered users can access this Forum area, but even so, please take care not to post personal contact details or other information which should be kept private. If you feel that a message which appears here should be removed, click on the 'report' button and a moderator will intervene.

WEBSITE HELP - if you're new to this kind of website, this may be the place to look first.  It contains Church Edit's standard guidance documents on how the various features of the website work.  As with the 'Members' tab mentioned above, on the Website Help pages (which we can't edit ) the expression "Coedpenmaen Baptist Church member" simply means "registered user of the Coedpenmaen Baptist Church website".
